Yuexi is an escrow county in Anqing City, Anhui Province. It is located in the hinterland of the Dabie Mountains and the southwestern border of Anhui. It straddles the Yangtze River and Huaihe River basins and borders Hubei Province. Yuexi is the only county in Anhui Province that integrates the "five districts" of old revolutionary base areas, impoverished areas, pure mountainous areas, ecological demonstration areas, and ecological functional areas. In 1936, the boundary junction of the four counties of Qianshan, Huoshan, Taihu, and Shucheng was merged and established as a county. With a total area of 2398 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over 24 towns, 182 administrative villages, 6 community committees, and a total population of 401,000. The forest coverage rate is 73% and the biological resources are extremely rich. The county has 1024 kinds of medicinal materials, 79 kinds of animals, 33 kinds of minerals, with a total reserve of 75,000 tons, including Poria, Gastrodia, Eucommia, Musk, Dendrobium, etc. More than 30 kinds of precious medicinal materials are well-known at home and abroad for a long time.
